Chinesewheels — A Cross-Border Truck Marketplace
A B2B marketplace for discovering and buying trucks from verified suppliers. Designed with clearer listings, better search, and an easier buying experience.
Overview
Chinesewheels is a platform that connects verified Chinese truck suppliers with Nigerian buyers. I designed the platform from scratch, focusing on trust, clarity, and a simple buying experience for a market where cross-border purchases are usually stressful and uncertain.

The Problem
Buying trucks from China is common in Nigeria, but it has challenges.
- Buyers don’t know which suppliers are genuine.
- Prices are inconsistent and negotiations are disorganized.
- There’s no central place to compare trucks or manage deals.
- Clearance at the port takes time due to poor communication.
- Both buyers and suppliers needed a safer and more predictable system.
Solution
We created a platform that simplifies interactions between Nigerian buyers and Chinese suppliers, ensuring safety and transparency. Buyers can browse trucks, compare details, and make offers easily. Suppliers list trucks and manage offers simply. Admin tools help review listings and manage activity, reducing stress in cross-border purchases.

My Role
I led the product design from the ground up—user flows, interface design, buyer and supplier dashboards, admin tools, listings, negotiation flow, verification, and the entire website structure.
Process
- Understanding the Needs I started by identifying what each group struggled with:
- Buyers needed clarity, trust, and a simple way to make offers.
- Suppliers needed an easy listing flow and a cleaner way to handle offers.
- Admin needed visibility and control without unnecessary complexity.
- Mapping the Flows I outlined the key journeys for all three users:
- Browsing and making offers for buyers
- Listing trucks and responding to offers for suppliers
- Reviewing users, listings, and sealed deals for admin
- Designing the Screens I designed each page to match the exact job it needed to do:
- A clear marketplace for browsing
- A structured listing flow for suppliers
- A focused negotiation screen
- Simple verification steps
- An admin dashboard that shows everything at a glance
Product Page
A simple browsing page where buyers can view truck details, compare options, and decide whether to save a truck or make an offer.

Make an offer
A guided screen where buyers submit their preferred price for a truck. The offer goes to the admin, who forwards it to the supplier.

Negotiation Page
A structured, chat-style negotiation interface where buyers can see offer updates, counter offers, and final decisions, all managed through the admin.

Account Page
A personal dashboard where buyers manage their details, see their verification status, view orders, and control their account settings.

Supplier Listing Page
A step-by-step flow that allows suppliers to add a new truck, upload photos, enter specifications, set a price, and publish their listing.

Admin: Overview
A central dashboard that shows key activity on the platform—new users, listings, pending verifications, and sealed deals.

Admin: Truck Listing
A page where the admin reviews all submitted trucks, approves or rejects listings, and monitors active and expired entries.

Admin: Verification
A review screen where the admin checks buyer and supplier documents, including ID and proof of address, before approving or rejecting verification.

Admin: User Management
A directory of all buyers and suppliers with tools to view profiles, check activity, and manage account status.

Results
The platform brought structure to a process that previously lacked direction. Buyers now have a single, clear place to find trucks and make offers. Suppliers receive enquiries in a simple, organized way that makes responses easier. For the admin, all verification, listings, and sealed deals can be managed from one dashboard, reducing delays and confusion. Overall, the workflow for all three roles became more predictable, stable, and easier to manage.
